Why I Primarily Play On PC

Note: This will be a short and sweet post this time.

To start, I will explain my gaming setup in detail below…

My Current setup is thus: A gaming PC with Windows 10, a 250GB SSD, a 6-core, 12-thread 3.6 GHz AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor, a 6GB ‘GeForce GTX 1080 OC’ and 32GB of dual-channel, 3200 MHz DDR4 ram. I also have a ‘PS4’, a ‘Switch’, a ‘New 3DS XL’, a ‘PS3 Slim’, and a ‘Wii’ that is backwards compatible with ‘GameCube’ games. These are only for their respective exclusive titles.

Now that you know my gaming setup, I will explain the three main reasons that I primarily play on PC.

First, the most obvious reason: The graphics, frame rate and performance on a decent to fantastic PC are far better than consoles. I won’t explain this in detail here, as you can easily find information on this by searching online. I’ll just simply state something: My PC is easily over three times as powerful as the PS4; very close to four times as powerful, actually.

Secondly, a majority of all games can be found on PC. If it’s not a system exclusive, it’s likely on PC.

And the final reason is that PC games are so much cheaper overall. Just head over to Steam or GOG during a sale; or, head over to Humble Bundle and look at their offerings. The frequency of PC game sales are also far more frequent, and the discounts during sales are usually far deeper too. This adds up immensely over time. A favorite of mine is the website CheapShark, which aggregates all of the best current digital game deals in one place very cleanly and simply.

Note: I’m not affiliated with any of the above-mentioned sites.
